MIA....Crabtree still unsigned

By Orly Jr.
Day 35, quickly going on Day 36, and still no sign of the only remaining 1st round pick to have not signed his contract. Michael Crabtree has quickly fallen out of favor with fellow 49er fans as no sign of when, or if Crabtree will even suit up for the 49ers during the 2009-10 season.
Crabtree, who was drafted #10 overall is said to be at almost a $7 million dollar difference in guaranteed money, and almost $18m in total from the current offer. As it stands, Crabtree's deal is worth $16.5 million in guaranteed money with incentives that could up the deal to almost $26 million.
Should Crabtree choose to sit out (who is honestly mentoring Crabtree), his rights belong to the 49ers right up until Draft Day 2010. Rumors are that Crabtree will sign after Labor Day (Sept 7 if you are keeping track), but as of now, only crickets can be heard.
Huard out, Nate Davis in
by Orly Jr.
The 49ers yesterday released veteran quarterback, Damon Huard. Huard, who spent last season with the Chiefs, saw very little practice time and with the emergence of Nate Davis in the last 2 games, the release makes perfect sense.
And don't feel sorry for Huard. Reports are that the 49ers received several phone calls regarding the veteran qb.
